Career Life Education: Guest Speaker Series

The following guest speaker series is optional. Attendance at such sessions can be used as a field trip credit for your CLE 10 mark (for those who have NOT gone on a field trip this year):

Tuesday, June 9th  @ 2:30PM in Teams (Invitation still to be sent out/Register early)  Anything You Want to know about the World of Money and Finances but Were Afraid to Ask –RBC Financial Planner Richard Briginshaw will talk about such topics as credit, mortgages, loans, tax laws and stocks. Students are EXPECTED to come with questions ready to ask to demystify the world of Money.

Wednesday, June 17th  @ 2:30PM in Teams (Invitation still to be sent out/Register early)                                                                                                                                    University of Victoria —Join UVic Recruiter Meghan Thompson for a virtual presentation on the University of Victoria. Learn how you can make the most of your university experience. The session will cover topics such as:

  • Academic program options and hands-on learning experiences
  • Life on campus, including living and studying in residence
  • Funding your education, including scholarships, co-operative education and student employment

Camosun College (Victoria) —Recruiter                                                                     University of Northern BC (Prince George) —Recruiter                                                RCMP Corporal Luiz Sardina — A fascinating discussion on what’s involved with being a 21st Century Police Officer. Those interested in careers in law enforcement, security and social work would benefit to see this presentation. As well, he can show you the weapons and other items that have been seized off the streets of Salmon Arm in the last few years.
