Lunch Program

J.L. Jackson is extremely fortunate to have an outstanding Lunch Program brought to you by the Local Shuswap Food Action Society and Shuswap Community Foundation.

Below are some of our themes this year:

  • We use a variety of foods, locally sourced where possible.
  • Tuesdays are always $3, but you can choose to donate $2 towards “Students needing lunch fund”. All other days are $5.
  • Wednesdays are wheat-free (always on rice) and most entrees can be made vegetarian, except meat soups and special theme days.
  • This year, we also are offering a “glutino” gluten-free bun option for our ham and eggers for an extra dollar.

To start off the year we are planning to offer two free days where students can “try” the food on Wednesday Sept 21 and Friday Sept 23. The full program begins September 27 and runs Tuesday through Friday each week.

Tuesday: $3.00

Wednesday – Friday: $5.00

Placing Your Order

This year we are using a software program to help students get their food as quick as possible. All our menus until winter break are posted below and you can pre-order and pay online.

To place your order online please go to:

If you do not have an account you will need to sign up using the campus/school code: JLJ

If you have an iPhone, you can use’s iOS App from and use the domain name ‘sfas’.

Menus will close two days before the meal day at 9 pm (ie. You have until Sunday at 9 pm to order for Tuesday’s lunch).

For students whose parents may not use the internet, we will still make a limited number of servings that students can buy from the school using cash, debit or credit.

Families experiencing financial hardship should contact the school principal (Gord Ritchie) about organizing a subsidized rate.
