New York Trip

J.L. Jackson Drama Teacher (Chris Iversen) is planning a once-in-a-lifetime international travel experience to Broadway and the Arts Metroin in the Spring of 2023! This trip will give students the chance to learn by experience –they will expand their perspective of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow confident and independent.

According to Mr. Iversen,

There is incredible growth that comes with seeing the world, exploring new places and experiencing new cultures – and I’m excited to bring that opportunity to your family and our community.

There will be an important meeting on Wednesday Oct 5 at 6:00pm for the families of students interested in this incredible opportunity. Please note, this trip is pending subject to final district approval and securing enough participants.

For more information please see the letter of invitation below.

Meet the Teacher Night

All Jackson Families are invited to our Meet the Teacher Night on Tuesday Oct 4 from 5:00-7:00pm. We will begin the evening in the Cafeteria/Courtyard at 5:00pm with an informal social event and some free food (Butter Chicken or Sushi Bowl) provided by our excellent chefs in our Jackson Kitchen. Then at 5:30pm teachers will head to their classrooms and families will be given an opportunity to complete self-guided tours of the school and visit individual classrooms/teachers. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Orange Shirt Week

Orange Shirt Day is just around the corner! As Orange Shirt Day is now the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation there will actually be no school on this day. Consequently, we will be encouraging students to wear Orange on Monday September 26 as we begin our “Orange Shirt Week” activities and come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope!
