Confirmed Case of COVID-19 at Jackson

Updated: Tuesday April 20 (6:00pm)

Dear Staff and Families,

A member of our Salmon Arm Secondary (Jackson) school community has tested positive for COVID-19. They are self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams.

All students, families and staff members have been notified with the attached letter:

Interior Health has identified and School District No. 83 has notified (by email and phone call) those individuals required to Self-Isolate (remain home, with school work provided remotely).

If you have not been contacted by Interior Health or the school, you have NOT been identified as being potentially exposed.

We will continue to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff by educating and enforcing our school-based protocols. The main features of these protocols include:

  • wearing a mask when entering the building, while in the hallway or in a common spaces and while on buses,
  • remaining in our Learning Cohorts,
  • following the physical distancing requirements, and
  • practicing effective hand hygiene.

We appreciate your continued patience and support as we all navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic.
